![]() Original Photo of Port Orchard, Wa. City Hall: Taken with a Kodak 4.0 mega pixel (2007 camera); Early evening, dusk. |
![]() Corrections Process: Opened photo in Adobe Photoshop; Sharpened; Adjusted levels; Brought color closer to actual time of day and cloned some colors to sharpen more. |
![]() Further Revisions: Manual color balance (for an earlier daytime) brought out a grainy look to the sky and lost detail in other lightness. |
![]() With some careful color sampling I was able to get back the pink tone the sky takes on just before dusk. Then with some thoughtful brush stokes and color burn I felt satisfied with the detail brought out in the horizone behind the building as well as the reflection, ramp, and balcony. |
Revision and EditingThe variations above were completed using photo editing tools with Adobe Photoshop. The second photo in the upper right is closest to the time of day on an early spring evening. By including these next two photos (below) I hope to show a range of adjustments possible as such a project can be done fairly quickly on a budget. | |
![]() Original Photo After Sun Set: Taken with a Kodak 4.0 mega pixel (2007 camera). |
![]() Corrections Process: For this photo a lot more could be accomplished. What I've done is a manual adjustment of color and removal of the city street lights. Having done so I used the picture for a fantasy composite that can be seen here. Fantasy Composites. |
